Those seeking an entry-level recurve for under $200 of the one-piece variety need not look much further than the Red Stag.  The riser is well-shaped and will fit medium and large hands comfortably, and sports a deep cut shelf that's nearly center shot.  The limbs are maple core laminations with black fiberglass, and its tips have been reinforced for Fast Flight strings.

Due to its one-piece nature, it has slightly longer working limbs than its take-down sibling , giving it a very slightly smoother draw.  The ones we've tested pulled back well to 30" with a little headroom to spare, and when the string has been properly tuned and silenced, much of the shock and noise fades.  Overall, the bow is a good value-oriented piece that will serve a beginning archer well.
