This is a compact and stout 45# recurve. Although only 56#, it has a short riser section and long working limbs which provides a surprisingly smooth draw at 28". Black phenolic in the riser gives the Equus comfortably solid weight in the hand. 

These bows are typically sold out of the box with no shelf setup and a bare factory string. A rug rest and striker plate have been added to the Equus here at Traditional Archery Supply. In addition, it has been outfitted with our custom composite Fast-Flight/B-50 string in bronze/black with red reinforcements to compliment the bow. The string has double-layer serving, a fitted nock point, and string silencers to dampen recoil and allow for a cleaner shot. Set to the proper 8" brace height with this special string, the Equus provides a fast, flat shot that is significantly quieter and more pleasant to shoot than the stock setup.

The Equus may be just the right compact recurve for those who are looking for a step up from the Martin Rebel recurve.
